The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has postponed all monthly clearance and weekly community development services (CDS) for corps members nationwide. This decision comes in anticipation of the protests scheduled to commence on August 1, themed “End Bad Governance in Nigeria,” which will run until August 10.
The announcement was made through a memo sent to state coordinators, local government inspectors (LGIs), and zonal inspectors (ZIs) across the 36 states of the federation.

The memo stated: “In furtherance to our earlier memo reminding corps members of the scheme’s policy prohibiting participation in any form of protest, all corps members are informed that biometric clearance and CDS activities are suspended with immediate effect. The date for the resumption of these activities will be communicated in due course.”
Corps members have been directed not to wear their NYSC uniforms for any reason this week. The memo reassured members that they would be attended to in their mufti during this period.
