Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General Yushau Ahmed, has issued a stern warning to corps members to refrain from posting camp activities on social media.
Ahmed said this during his visit to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Ede, Osun, on Friday. He emphasized that sharing camp happenings online violates the scheme’s standing rules and policies.
While addressing the corps members, Ahmed stressed the importance of maintaining good character and discipline throughout the three-week orientation exercise.
He also encouraged the corps members to stay focused and take full advantage of the skills acquisition programs offered in the camp.

“The knowledge and skills you acquire here will make you self-independent and better individuals after your service year,” Ahmed stated.
“The skill acquisition is targeted at making you independent in order not to depend on white-collar jobs. We are in collaboration with stakeholders that will provide grants. Please take this measure seriously.”
Assuring the corps members of their safety and security, Ahmed noted that camp officials are committed to posting them to safe locations. “You are important to us. Guide yourself against any danger and be vigilant. Also, take precautionary measures to ensure you stay safe,” he advised.

Ahmed also highlighted the importance of maintaining good hygiene to prevent diseases, especially cholera. He urged the corps members to be good ambassadors wherever they are posted across the country.
The NYSC state coordinator in Osun, Mr. Agbor Obim, expressed gratitude to the Director-General for his visit and for his unwavering support for the corps members.
