A former youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Owo Local Government Area, Ondo State, Fisayo Oladipo was killed in the early hours of Monday in what authorities suspect to be a cult-related attack.
Oladipo, 52, was also a former chairmanship aspirant during the administration of the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Details surrounding the killing remain unclear. However, reports indicate that Oladipo’s remains have been transported to a morgue.

The incident has heightened tension in Owo, a town already grappling with recent episodes of violence.
Security agencies, including the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), have been deployed in large numbers to maintain peace and forestall further unrest.
The NSCDC commander confirmed the heavy security presence, stating that the situation is now under control.
“I can only confirm that we have sent our men down to also assist other security agencies deployed to calm the atmosphere.
Our men are on the ground with heavy deployment. I will advise we wait for officials’ reactions,” he told newsmen

This killing comes on the heels of a violent cult clash in the region that claimed two lives, further raising concerns about the state of security in Ondo State.
Residents of Owo have expressed fear and outrage over the repeated violence, calling on authorities to intensify efforts to curb cult activities and restore peace to the area.
As investigations into Oladipo’s death begin, many are demanding swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent similar incidents in the future.
