A community in Tashar Aibo, Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State, has been thrown into mourning after a young man was reportedly stabbed to death by his wife just three days after their wedding.
The victim, popularly known as Dan Gaske Mai Masara, was said to be resting at home on Sunday afternoon when the shocking incident occurred. The couple had tied the knot on Thursday, November 18, 2025, with residents recalling that the wedding celebration was joyful and peaceful.
According to neighbours, the wife allegedly stabbed him in the neck with a knife while he was asleep. Panic spread quickly through the area as news of the attack circulated.

Residents described the deceased, a well-known maize seller in the community, as humble, hardworking and loved by many. On Sunday, crowds gathered around his shop, struggling to come to terms with the tragedy.
Local sources expressed deep sorrow over the incident, calling it heartbreaking and praying for the repose of the victim’s soul.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities have yet to release an official statement, but investigations are currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the killing.
