Galadima Confirms Kwankwaso, Obi’s Exit From ADC

KWANKWASO OBI

The Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Buba Galadima, has hinted at an imminent political realignment, revealing that key opposition figures—including former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso—are set to unveil a new political platform on Monday.

Galadima made the disclosure at a stakeholders’ meeting of the Obi-Kwankwaso Movement in Abuja, amid growing uncertainty over opposition alliances ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Although he did not name the platform, sources close to the developments indicated that both leaders are concluding arrangements to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress, reportedly linked to former Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson.

According to a source within the camp, Obi and Kwankwaso, alongside their associates, have already begun signing necessary documents with party leaders.

The source added that the move is aimed at avoiding a repeat of past coalition challenges, particularly those linked to other opposition platforms.

Addressing supporters, Galadima warned of possible backlash following the announcement, including media criticism and coordinated social media attacks, urging loyalists to remain prepared and respond strategically.

He also alleged ongoing political pressure on opposition figures, claiming that several parties—including the Peoples Democratic Party, African Democratic Congress, and others—have been weakened in recent times.

Also speaking at the event, businessman Isaac Fayose expressed support for the proposed alliance, describing it as a viable political alternative, while activist Aisha Yesufu called for unity across ethnic and regional lines, urging Nigerians to prioritise national interest over division.
