The Executive Director of the Resource Centre for Human Rights and Civic Education, Comrade Dr. Ibrahim Zikirullahi, has congratulated the Executive Director of the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre, Auwal Musa Rafsanjani, on his receipt of the Transparency International Amalia Award.
Grassroots Parrot reports that Dr. Zikirullahi described the recognition as a validation of his decades-long commitment to promoting transparency, accountability and democratic governance.
The Transparency International Amalia Award was presented to Rafsanjani during the Transparency International Movement Awards Ceremony on July 1, 2026, at the conclusion of the TI Summit 2026, held from June 29 to July 1.

He said, “This honour is not only a personal achievement for Auwal Musa Rafsanjani but also a powerful affirmation of the critical role civil society plays in defending democratic values. Through legislative advocacy, public enlightenment and coalition building, he has consistently amplified the voices of marginalised communities and advanced the cause of good governance in Nigeria.”
The CHRICED Executive Director noted that Rafsanjani had remained one of Nigeria’s most respected voices in the fight against corruption, adding that his courage and integrity had continued to inspire actors within the country’s civic space.
“This award reinforces what many of us have always known. Rafsanjani’s contributions have been instrumental in pushing Nigeria towards a more accountable and just society,” Zikirullahi said.
He also commended Transparency International for recognising individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the global anti-corruption movement.
“We applaud Transparency International for spotlighting leaders whose unwavering commitment to anti-corruption ideals continues to inspire citizens across the world. Such recognition reminds all stakeholders that the fight against corruption requires courage, consistency and collective action,” he said.
Zikirullahi further urged government institutions, development partners and citizens to see the award as a renewed call to strengthen Nigeria’s anti-corruption architecture.
According to him, “This recognition should serve as a reminder that Nigeria must continue to build stronger institutions, protect public resources and deepen accountability if we are to achieve sustainable development and public trust.”
He reaffirmed CHRICED’s commitment to working alongside CISLAC and other civil society organisations to promote transparency, strengthen democratic governance and ensure that citizens enjoy the benefits of accountable leadership.
