Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has refuted growing speculations about a potential bid for the 2027 presidential election, affirming that his immediate focus remains on fulfilling his responsibilities to the people of Oyo State.
Makinde, a prominent figure within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) made this clear during an interview with the Nigerian Tribune.
Governor Makinde dismissed claims suggesting he may vie for the party’s presidential ticket to challenge the incumbent President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Instead, he reiterated his commitment to completing his current mandate as governor.
