Ganduje Clean, Not Corrupt — Aide

Muhammad Garba, spokesman for former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has dismissed recent corruption allegations against his principal, insisting they are politically motivated.

Garba, who also served as Kano State Commissioner for Information, issued a statement on Monday, defending the former governor’s record in office.

He said Ganduje administered Kano with accountability, transparency, and a focus on legacy projects during his eight-year tenure.

According to him, the Kano State Government’s attempts to link Ganduje with financial mismanagement, land grabbing, and irregular spending through the Protocol Directorate were deliberate distortions aimed at tarnishing his image.

“Governor Ganduje’s record reflects decades of service to Kano State. These narratives are acts of misinformation aimed at distracting the public from real governance issues,” Garba stated.

He further explained that all activities undertaken by the directorate were lawful, administrative in nature, and carried out within state-approved budgets. Any suggestion otherwise, he argued, amounted to a misrepresentation of facts.

Highlighting Ganduje’s achievements, Garba pointed to developmental programmes and infrastructure projects initiated during his administration, which he said remain beneficial to the people of Kano.

The former commissioner also appealed to political actors, the media, and the public to refrain from using Ganduje’s name for propaganda.

“If there are genuine concerns, there are proper legal channels to address them. Dragging a former leader’s name into these narratives is unjust,” he added.
