A cholera outbreak has struck Bokkos Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State, resulting in the death of four people, with several others currently receiving medical treatment.
Grassroots Parrot confirmed that those affected have been evacuated to various primary health care centres and cottage hospitals across the council area for urgent medical attention.
Confirming the outbreak in a statement to newsmen on Monday in Jos, the Executive Chairman of Bokkos LGA, Mr. Amalau Amalau, said the cases were reported in several communities, including Hurti, Bokkos West, Bokkos Central, and Mangol.
He noted that health authorities, including the Primary Health Care Department and the local cottage hospital, are working together to contain the outbreak and treat those affected.
