Stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the North Central region has called for the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

This is contained in a letter addressed to the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

The letter which is titled “Vote of No Confidence and Request for the Removal of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as National Chairman of the APC,” was signed by Mohammed Mahmud Saba and made available to the press.

Expressing deep-seated discontent with Ganduje’s leadership, the Concerned North Central APC Stakeholders emphasized their unwavering stance on Ganduje’s resignation.

This demand comes against the backdrop of Ganduje’s purported suspension and subsequent fervent support for his continued tenure from some quarters within the North Central APC.

The letter, also distributed to notable figures including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Senator George Akume.

The letter underscored the region’s vote of no confidence in Ganduje and called for his immediate resignation.

Highlighting grievances, Mahmud Saba underscored Ganduje’s ascension to the national chairman position as contravening the APC constitution and deemed it a betrayal of the North Central’s rightful claim to the position, especially following Senator Abdullahi Adamu’s departure.

In a parallel development, the North Central APC Forum, representing another faction of stakeholders from the region, urged state chairmen of the party to distance themselves from recent expressions of confidence in Ganduje.

The forum’s chairman, Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, stressed that such endorsements were detrimental to the interests of the North Central region and risked diluting the party’s stronghold in the area.

Zazzaga emphasized the region’s strong contribution to the APC and its victories in elections, noting that the region deserved the National Chairmanship position.

He called on APC stakeholders and governors from the North Central to support their efforts in securing the position.
