The Delta State Police Command has handed over the wanted King of Ewu, Clement Ikolo to the military.

This came hours after the monarch turned himself in on Thursday after he was declared wanted by the Defence Headquarters.

King Ikolo was one of the eight persons declared wanted by the Defence Headquarters in connection with the killing of 17 military personnel in Okuama community.

Bright Edafe, the Public Relations Officer, Delta State Police Command, confirmed to newsmen on Friday that the monarch was no longer in the Police custody.

The monarch was said to have arrived at the state police command headquarters at exactly 6:41 pm, to report himself to Police Commissioner, Olufemi Abaniwonda.

Before he turned himself in to the police, the monarch spoke to journalists, insisting on his innocence.

Earlier on Thursday, the Defence Headquarters declared eight persons, including Ikolo, wanted over their alleged roles in the recent killing of 17 military personnel on a peace-keeping mission to Delta State.

Grassroots Parrot reports that those declared wanted are Prof. Ekpekpo Arthur, Andaowei Dennis Bakriri, Akevwru Daniel Omotegbo (Aka Amagben), Akata Malawa David, Sinclear Oliki; a traditional ruler, Clement Ikolo Oghenerukeywe; Reuben Baru, and Igoli Ebi.

Prof. Arthur Ekpekpo is the President-General of Ewu communities and renowned lecturer of Solid State Physics in the Department of Physics, Delta State University, Abraka.

Also, on the list of those declared wanted is a suspected militant leader, Akevwru Daniel Omotegbono, aka Amagbein.

Soldiers had, a few days after the incident, tracked him to the Igbomoturu community in the Southern-Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State but missed him as he was believed to have gone underground.

On the list also are Atata Malaw David and Sinclair Oliki, who are suspected to be part of the Amagbein gang.

Others are Andaowei Dennis Bakriri and Igoli Ebi, who is supposedly the mother of one of the wanted persons as well as Reuben Baru, a young man, who made a viral video recently, narrating why the soldiers were killed.
