Gov Govt. Set To Create Four New Ministries

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has written to the state House of Assembly requesting for the creation of four new ministries.

Grassroots Parrot reports that the state currently has about 18 ministries including Ministries of Education, Commerce, Higher Education, Information, Land and Physical Planning, Rural and Community Development, Science and Technology.

Others are Ministries of Women Affairs, Works, Agriculture, Finance, Women Affairs, Local Government, Justice, Health, Environment, Budget and Planning and Water Resources.

However, in a letter read on the floor of the assembly on Tuesday, Jibrin Ismail Falgore, the House Speaker, said the creation of the new ministry is to enhance the development of the state and its growing needs.

According to the Speaker, the new ministries the governor is seeking approval from the assembly for creation are the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Power and Renewable Energy, Internal Security and Solid Minerals.

Other letters from the governor received by the assembly include the approval for the dissolution of the assembly commission with the names of new members, four names as commissioner nominees and members of the state executive council, replacement of the name of a member of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission Barrister Dandago with Mal. Lawal Badamosi.

Falgore subsequently adjourned the sitting to April, 2nd 2024.
