The Chairman, Ilorin South local government of Kwara State, Hon Nuhu Majeed Podo has unveiled his scorecard in key sectors to celebrate second year in office.
Podo while briefing newsmen in Ilorin on Wednesday said his administration through support of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has executed hundreds of impactful projects across 11 Wards in the local government.
The Chairman while reeling out his achievements in the presence of the Vice Chairman, Hon. Joel Mary Abiodun, Council Secretary, Mohammed Hameed and Speaker of Legislative Arm, Hon Jimoh Taibat Tope said his administration employed additional 150 security personnel, distributed 50 motorcycles for community surveillance, upgraded Civil Defence Outpost Alagbado to full division and donated a Sienna bus for patrol to enhance the security architecture of the council.
In the education sector, Podo revealed that his administration within two years renovated classrooms and Principals’ Offices in Schools, distributed writing materials to ease educational expenses of parents, constructed Multipurpose Hall at Sheikh AbdulSalam Junior Secondary School and sponsored education 30 students at the College of Health Sciences, Osogbo
His words: “We also constructed a multipurpose hall at Sheikh Abdul Salam Junior Secondary School and named it the Mutawalli of Ilorin Hall, in recognition of the importance of supporting educational development.

Through the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), we also facilitated the renovation of junior secondary schools, including schools in Isale Maliki, Ajibesin, and other communities across the local government.”
Our Correspondent reports that Ilorin South Chairman received 2025 Nigerian Local Government Chairmen Merit Award for distributing 17 transformers serving hundreds of communities.
The current leadership also drilled boreholes and repaired existing boreholes across 11 Wards. His administration has graded rural roads and constructed interlocking works in 10 locations: Alangua Okaka, Alangua Tanke, Alangua Oke-Ogun, Ile Podo, Ile Apata, Balogun Afin, Ita Amodu and other locations.
Podo revealed that he refurbished seven official vehicles and procured Cars for Vice Chairman, Speaker, DPM, Treasurer and Legislative Arm to enhance efficiency in their operations.
The Council Chairman hailed President Bola Tinubu for introducing reforms that make more funds available for grassroots development.
