Former Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has dismissed reports alleging that he held a closed-door political meeting with former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, at his Abuja residence.
Grassroots Parrot reports that the report, which circulated on X on Wednesday, was accompanied by an old video showing Fayemi welcoming Kwankwaso at his home.
In a statement issued Thursday by the Head of his Media Office, Ahmad Sajoh, Fayemi described the claim as false and urged the public to disregard it.
The statement clarified that Fayemi met Kwankwaso only once in the past year, and that meeting occurred publicly at the book launch of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Mohammed Bello Adoke (SAN), not in any private political context.

While acknowledging their long-standing friendship dating back to their time as governors, Fayemi stressed that the relationship is personal and non-partisan, built on mutual respect and a shared commitment to Nigeria’s progress rather than political alignment.
He cautioned against efforts to politicise private relationships, noting that his associates come from across Nigeria’s political spectrum.
The statement reaffirmed his commitment to national unity, principled engagement, and responsible public discourse.
