A 32-year-old man identified as Rayyanu was found dead inside a mosque in Paso community, Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Tuesday morning.

A resident of Paso, Ibrahim Musa, confirmed the incident, stating that the deceased had come to the mosque around 5:56 am to observe the early morning Subhi prayer. After the prayers, Rayyanu reportedly decided to take a nap inside the mosque but never woke up.

According to Musa, it was around 7:28 am when some members of the mosque’s cleaning team discovered the lifeless body of Rayyanu.

“They tried to wake him up so they could clean the mosque, but he was unresponsive,” Musa said.

The cleaners raised an alarm, which attracted the attention of some Muslim elders in the area. The elders rushed to the mosque and transported the man to a hospital, where the doctor on duty pronounced him dead.

Rayyanu was later identified, and his body was handed over to his relatives for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.

As of the time of this report, there has been no official statement from the authorities regarding the cause of death. However, community members expressed shock and sadness over the incident.

The sudden death of Rayyanu has left residents of Paso in grief, with many describing him as a peaceful individual.

Meanwhile, religious leaders in the area have urged worshippers to remain prayerful and vigilant while going about their daily activities.

The tragic incident in Paso community has once again highlighted the unpredictability of life. While awaiting further details on the cause of Rayyanu’s death, residents continue to mourn his passing, praying for the repose of his soul.
