The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero, has called on the government and faith-based organizations to collaborate on improving healthcare delivery in the country.

Ajero made this call at the commissioning of the Faith-Hill Prophetic Assembly Hospital, Skills Acquisition Centre, and Bakery in Piwoyi, Abuja.

The facilities, built by the Presiding Bishop of the Church, Archbishop Professor Emmanuel Musa Jatau, on his 62nd birthday, demonstrate the church’s commitment to addressing human needs.

Ajero commended Bishop Jatau’s selfless efforts, emphasizing that churches should prioritize healing and supporting the vulnerable rather than profit maximization.

“This is unique to see someone whose interest is to touch lives. We must commend him for what he is doing, and I want to say that the church shouldn’t be for profit maximisation but a place of healing like Bishop has done,” Ajero said.

Ajero also expressed concern about the exploitation of faith organizations’ members, who contribute to the growth and development of these organizations but cannot afford to benefit from their services.

He praised Bishop Jatau’s vision and actions as a model for others to follow.

“I want to call on government too to look at the issue of healthcare delivery with all seriousness because this is indeed one of our biggest challenges in this country,” he added.

Former Minister of State, FCT, Dr. Ramatu Tijani, applauded Archbishop Professor Emmanuel Musa Jatau for always setting the pace and championing human capital development through rendering humanitarian activities.

She encouraged people with means to learn from his example, especially considering the current economic realities Nigerians face.

“This is typical of what Bishop Jatau is known for; touching humanity has been part of him, and I am not surprised with the facilities put in place. This is indeed the biggest healthcare center within Piwoyi, and we must congratulate him,” she said.

The Commissioner Nominee from Obi Local Government Area, Barrister David Moyi, and the immediate past Chairman of the Obi Local Government Council, Ozhe Joshua Yekpowudu, also commended Bishop Jatau’s efforts, describing the facilities as a demonstration of love to Nigerians, irrespective of inclination.

“He is living a life we are all taught in the Bible, and what else can we say of this man who is living his life for the sake of others?” they said.

Leading the Migili traditional council was the Zhe-Musha Chiefdom, Zhegli Joshua Kyari, who noted with delight what Bishop Jatau is doing across the board, showering encomium on whom he described as their proud son who stops at nothing but to put smiles on the faces of the vulnerable.

Earlier, the Presiding Bishop Faith-Hill Prophetic Assembly Abuja, Archbishop Professor Emmanuel Musa Jatau, reiterated the desire of the church to continue touching humanity in the place of needs, calling for more support to achieve its targets, especially in the area of healthcare services and skills acquisition.

“This is our call, to give back to the society what God has given us. This is the gospel of Jesus Christ, to care for one another. We thank our partners, and we are also looking forward for more support with a view to meeting the needs of the weak amongst us,” he said.

The event which coincided with the graduation of those who went through spiritual training gave an opportunity for a vibrant cultural display by the Migili and Tiv Communities.
