Men of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps, have successfully rescued a 75-year-old woman from a kidnappers’ den after she was brutally assaulted in Ifira Akoko, Akoko South-East Local Government Area of the state.

The septuagenarian, narrating her harrowing ordeal, disclosed that she was attacked while returning from her farm on a sunny afternoon.

“I was on my way back from the farm that fateful day after work when I saw three men approaching me. As soon as they saw me, they grabbed my hands and dragged me into the bush. The next thing I knew was one of them forcefully removing my clothes and violating me,” she recounted with deep anguish.

She further explained that she was disoriented and confused after the incident but was ultimately rescued by operatives of the Amotekun Corps, who responded after hearing her cries.

Meanwhile, while parading the suspects at the Amotekun headquarters in Akure, the Ondo State capital, the security outfit also presented some suspected kidnappers arrested for abducting 18 passengers from a commercial bus along the Akure–Owo highway a few weeks ago.

One of the victims of the abduction narrated her horrifying experience, revealing how she was also sexually assaulted by one of the criminals.

“They marched us out of the bus. One mallam (Fulani man) held my neck and dragged me from the road into the bush. After about 20 minutes of struggling, he tore off my clothes and violated me,” she painfully recounted.

Addressing journalists, the Amotekun Corps Commander in the state, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, assured that the suspects would be charged to court without delay upon completion of the investigation.

“Our operatives are working tirelessly to rid the state of criminal elements. We will not rest until justice is served for the victims of these heinous crimes,” Adeleye stated.
