DSS Arrests Suspected Boko Haram Members In Osun State

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested 10 individuals suspected to be members of Boko Haram and the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Ilesa, Osun State.

Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the spokesperson for Governor Ademola Adeleke, confirmed the arrests, describing the suspects as a serious security threat.

He reassured residents of the state government’s commitment to collaborating with security agencies to safeguard lives and property across Osun State.

In a statement, Rasheed emphasized the importance of vigilance among citizens, urging them to report any suspicious activities in their communities to the appropriate authorities.

“Governor Adeleke hailed the alertness of security operatives to eliminate the threats posed by the suspected terrorists, which gives further assurance that our security agencies are up to the task of sustaining peace and security in every part of Nigeria,” Rasheed said.

The governor commended the intelligence-driven approach of the DSS in tracking and apprehending the suspects. He lauded the operatives for their dedication and efficiency in neutralizing potential threats before they could materialize.

“This is a welcome development and a big relief, not just for us as a government but for the people of the state and Nigeria in general,” he added. “We have absolute confidence in our security forces to keep protecting us.”

The arrests come as part of broader efforts by security agencies to address the growing threats of terrorism and ensure the safety of all Nigerians.

Governor Adeleke reiterated his administration’s unwavering support for security operations and called for continued community cooperation in intelligence sharing.

The state government assured citizens that it would provide all necessary support to security agencies to sustain peace and stability in the state.
