Former Governor of Kano State and leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has declared his intention to drastically diminish the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) voter base in Kano State during the 2027 general elections.

Kwankwaso made the pledge while hosting former councillors and senior special advisers who served under the previous administration at his residence in Kano.

The gathering, which also included political stakeholders from Tsanyawa Local Government Area, provided a platform for the former governor to discuss his plans for the NNPP’s political future.

Reflecting on the 2023 elections, Kwankwaso attributed the NNPP’s notable performance in Kano to the tireless efforts of his team.

Despite being a newly formed party and starting its campaign late, the NNPP managed to outperform expectations, leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with only 15,000 votes in the state.

“Now, it’s our turn to diminish APC’s influence. We will work tirelessly to ensure their votes are reduced to less than 15,000 in Kano come 2027,” Kwankwaso declared.

The former governor emphasized the importance of grassroots mobilization and strategic dedication to cement the NNPP’s position as a dominant political force.

He urged his supporters to remain steadfast and committed to delivering results that would ensure the party’s success in future elections.

Kwankwaso’s bold statement comes as Kano remains a key battleground for political influence, with the NNPP aiming to solidify its gains and challenge the ruling APC in the upcoming elections.
