Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa, the Sarkin Beli and longest-reigning traditional ruler in Bauchi State, has passed away at the age of 112.
The revered monarch, who was turbaned in 1933 and served on the throne for 91 years, died on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10:30 pm at the Federal Medical Center in Azare, Katagum Local Government Area, following a brief illness.
Muhammadu Inuwa was the grandfather of the Chairman of Shira Local Government Area, adding to his significant influence within the community.

The Chief Imam of Beli, Liman Musa Abubakar, confirmed the passing of the esteemed leader, announcing that funeral prayers would be held at 2:00 pm today.
The Sarkin Beli leaves behind a legacy of dedication and service, having been a central figure in Bauchi State’s traditional leadership for nearly a century. His death marks the end of an era and a significant loss to his community.
