Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has issued a strong warning to criminals in Kano State, declaring that the state is no longer a safe haven for unlawful activities.
Jibrin made the statement on Saturday during the handover of 1,000 motorcycles to the Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Garba, at the state police headquarters.
The motorcycles, donated by Senator Jibrin, aim to enhance the operational capacity of the police in Kano, particularly in his constituency, Kano North.
The initiative is part of the senator’s broader efforts to improve security under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Criminals, you are warned: stop your nefarious activities and embrace peace. The Nigerian Police Force in Kano is now fully equipped to reach every corner of the state.
These motorcycles will allow officers to swiftly respond to incidents and track down anyone attempting to hide,” Jibrin declared.
He emphasized that ensuring security is a collective effort, urging individuals and community leaders to support the police with information and resources.
“Security is everyone’s responsibility—traditional rulers, religious leaders, students, and even ordinary citizens must play their part. Let us support the police as they sacrifice daily for our safety,” he added.
CP Salman Garba commended Senator Jibrin for the donation, describing the motorcycles as a vital tool for enhancing police response and operational efficiency.

“These motorcycles are not just vehicles; they are a tangible investment in our officers’ capacity to protect the people of Kano with integrity and respect for the rule of law,” Garba said.
The donation follows other security initiatives, including the distribution of 78 vehicles to the state police by Kano Governor Abba Yusuf and 22 operational vehicles donated by Senator Jibrin in 2023.
The motorcycles are expected to improve police response times and strengthen efforts to maintain peace and order in both rural and urban areas of Kano State.
