President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has concluded a three-day official visit to Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea, departing the city on Friday afternoon. The visit, made at the invitation of Equatorial Guinea’s President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, marked a significant step in strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two West African nations.

President Tinubu arrived in Malabo on Wednesday, immediately engaging in a series of diplomatic and economic activities aimed at fostering closer cooperation between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea. A key highlight of the visit was the signing of the Gulf of Guinea Pipeline agreement, a strategic initiative expected to enhance energy collaboration between the two countries.

In addition to the pipeline agreement, President Tinubu’s visit also saw the revival of the Nigeria-Equatorial Guinea Joint National Commission. This commission, which has been dormant for some time, is now set to facilitate various bilateral initiatives, with several activities planned for activation in November.

Accompanied by Equatorial Guinea’s Prime Minister Manuela Roka Botey, President Tinubu departed from Malabo International Airport at approximately 4:03 p.m., concluding a visit that both nations have hailed as a success in deepening their partnership.
