Governor Yusuf Pays Solemn Visit To Late Father’s Graveyard

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf celebrated his 62nd birthday with a reflective visit to the Dandolo graveyard in Kano, where he paid homage to his late father, Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf.

The governor’s visit was a poignant moment, honouring the legacy of a man who significantly influenced his life and values.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawaki Tofa, Governor Yusuf was described as emotional during the visit.

He offered prayers at his father’s graveside, seeking divine mercy and asking Allah to grant him Jannatul Firdaus.

The governor was accompanied by family members, aides, and close confidants as he reflected on his father’s enduring impact.

Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf was a respected statesman who once represented Kaduna Metropolitan in the regional parliament.

Governor Yusuf recounted the profound lessons of integrity, service, and justice imparted by his father, which have been guiding principles in his public life.

“My father lived an enviable life that typified service leadership, character humility, and uncompromising commitment to the pursuit of justice. He will continue to inspire me in everything I do,” the governor said.

He also expressed gratitude for the role his mother, Malama Khadijatul-Naja’atu, a dedicated school teacher and Islamic scholar, played in shaping his values.

“My mother taught me the importance of education, faith, and compassion—values that have remained with me throughout my life,” he added.

Governor Yusuf described the visit as an opportunity to reconnect with his roots and renew his commitment to serving the people of Kano.

“Celebrating my birthday at my father’s grave reminds me of where I come from and the values that define me.

It is also a moment to renew my commitment to serving the people of Kano with the same dedication my father had for his community,” he remarked.

Governor Yusuf’s actions resonate with many in Kano, reflecting a leader rooted in humility and service.
