Fresh facts have emerged: Emmanuel Kefas, the young man recently accused in connection with the death of his girlfriend, Comfort Jimtop, has been found dead under unclear circumstances in the Tudiri community of Ardo-Kola Local Government Area of Taraba State.

Kefas’s lifeless body was discovered in the Tudiri community of Ardo-Kola Local Government Area on Saturday, according to the Taraba State Police Command.

Police spokesperson James Lashen confirmed the development, revealing that a Tecno Android phone was recovered beside the corpse. “We received information from the village head of Tudiri in Ardo-Kola that a lifeless body was found. A Tecno Android phone was recovered beside the corpse,” Lashen said.

He further disclosed that after the phone was charged, investigators found a photo of Kefas and the late Comfort Jimtop together, indicating a likely romantic relationship between them.

Emmanuel Kefas, a graduate of human kinetics from TSU in 2024, was also found dead in the Tudiri community, he was suspected to have committed suicide after the death of Comfort in his house.

The suspected deceased lovers were all residents of Bakasi, living about 200 meters away from each other’s houses, near Dr. Rapha Memorial Guest Inn, by the Vice-Chancellor’s Gate in Jalingo.

Comfort, who was found dead under questionable circumstances, was said to be in a relationship with Emmanuel since when the latter was a student at the university.

“The corpse has been evacuated to the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Jalingo, for autopsy. Efforts are ongoing to trace the boy’s family for official identification. The autopsy will also help determine the actual cause of death,” Lashen added.
