Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to President Donald Trump on his re-election as the 47th President of the United States.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu applauded Trump’s victory, citing it as a testament to the trust and confidence Americans have placed in his leadership.
Tinubu expressed optimism for strengthening Nigeria-U.S. relations under Trump’s renewed administration, emphasizing the potential for increased economic cooperation, peace promotion, and collaborative action on global challenges.

“Together, we can foster economic cooperation, promote peace, and address global challenges that affect our citizens,” Tinubu remarked in his statement.
President Tinubu highlighted Trump’s prior experience in office from 2017 to 2021, expressing confidence that his return to the White House will bring “an era of earnest, beneficial, and reciprocal economic and development partnerships between Africa and the United States.
” He also praised Americans for their commitment to democracy, which he said was demonstrated in their electoral decision.
Acknowledging the U.S.’s pivotal role on the world stage, President Tinubu said he trusted President Trump’s leadership to bring the world closer to peace and prosperity.
