The regional office of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has confirmed the restoration of electricity in Kano, but with limited capacity.
Grassroots Parrot reports that Kano is among the 17 northern states that have been subjected to total blackouts for about two weeks.
The TCN Assistant Manager for Kano, Engineer Muhammad Bello, made the confirmation in an exclusive interview with our correspondent on Wednesday night.

Bello stated that power has been restored at some strategic locations, including Dan-Agundi, Dakata, Hadeja, and Katsina Power Stations.
However, Bello noted that the current supply may not meet both industrial and domestic demands, a situation that prompted the TCN to prioritize companies in order to prevent the closure of businesses.
He added that the TCN team is working hard to repair the second line, therefore appealing for patience and understanding of the state residents.
Bello also called on northern governors to support the development of power infrastructure in the region.
