President Bola Tinubu has appealed to aggrieved Nigerians, particularly the youth, to call off a planned national protest against the high cost of living. The President assured them that their concerns have been heard and that efforts are underway to address their grievances.
The plea was conveyed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a briefing with State House correspondents following his meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Minister Idris emphasized that President Tinubu is acutely aware of the economic challenges facing the country and is committed to implementing measures to improve the situation. “We discussed the issue of the country in general, and Mr. President has asked me to again inform Nigerians that he listens to them, especially the young people who are planning to protest,” Idris said.
“Mr. President said he takes their concerns seriously and is working assiduously to ensure that this country is good not just for today but also for the future. He does not see any need for the planned protest and has asked them to await the government’s response to all their pleas.”
