Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has presented a brand-new car to Mr. Solanke Taiwo, a teacher at Ansa-Ur-Deen Main School I, Kemta Lawa, Abeokuta, in recognition of his emergence as Nigeria’s Overall Best Primary School Teacher.
The presentation took place at the Governor’s Office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, in the presence of the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbagbu, and the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr. Oloko.
Prof. Arigbagbu described the teacher’s national recognition as a reflection of the state government’s sustained investment and reforms in the education sector under the Ogun State Education Revitalisation Agenda.
He noted that the initiative, built on six pillars, including curriculum development, school management, technology and innovation, infrastructure, funding, and teachers’ and students’ welfare, has continued to yield measurable results.
According to him, the state’s declaration of a state of emergency in education paved the way for comprehensive reforms that have strengthened teaching standards and improved learning outcomes.
He added that Ogun’s consistent performance in state and national competitions, including victories in JETS contests and other academic platforms, underscores the impact of the reforms.

He explained that the car gift was meant to reward excellence and inspire other teachers to remain committed to delivering quality education, assuring that the government would continue to prioritise training, retraining, and the adoption of digital and AI-driven teaching tools.
In his remarks, Mr. Solanke expressed gratitude to the governor for recognising his achievement, describing the honour as motivating and fulfilling.
He pledged to continue giving his best and to work with fellow educators to sustain Ogun State’s reputation for educational excellence, while encouraging teachers across the state to remain dedicated to improving learning outcomes.
