The Kano State Police Command has rescued a four-year-old girl, Nabila, who was abducted in Dakatsalle Village, Bebeji Local Government Area.
Command spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the incident, stating that the child’s father, Zilkiflu Abdullahi, reported her missing on November 22, 2024. A day later, he received a ransom demand of ₦3 million from an unknown caller.
In response, the police deployed an Anti-Kidnapping Squad, led by SP Aliyu Muhammad Auwal, to rescue the victim and track down the culprit.
Through intelligence-led operations, the suspect, 23-year-old Saifullahi Abba, was apprehended on November 28, 2024, in Luran Village, Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area.

Kiyawa revealed that the suspect confessed to the crime and led the police to the location where the child was being held.
Nabila was rescued unharmed and taken to Murtala Muhammed Specialists Hospital in Kano for a medical examination, after which she was discharged in good health.
“The suspect has admitted to the crime and is currently in custody. Investigations are ongoing, and he will be charged to court upon completion,” Kiyawa assured.
The Kano State Police Command reiterated its commitment to protecting citizens and urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly.
