Kano Police Rescue 4 Year Old Boy Abducted By Cousin, Others

The police command in Kano state has rescued a kidnapped four-year-old boy, Muhammad Nasir Jamilu arrested three suspects, in connection with the abduction.

A statement by the police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said Jamilu was abducted from Sharada Quarters, whisked to Gwarzo Town, and a ransom demand of ten million naira (10,000,000:00) was made.

After negotiations, a sum of three hundred thousand naira (N300,000:00) naira was paid, pending the balance, according to the police statement.

Kiyawa said the suspects, Hisbullahi Salisu, Hassan Ali Rabiu and Hassan Aliyu were arrested and the principal suspect, Salisu who is a cousin to the victim, confessed to have conspired with the two others to perpetrate the act.

The police spokesman said the victim was rescued unhurt, rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specalist Hospital Kano, and later reunited with his parents.

The statement read: On 7th September 2024, the Kano State Police Command’s Surveillance Team, led by CSP Kabiru Isah Kangiwa, achieved a significant breakthrough in the case of a kidnapped four-year-old boy, Muhammad Nasir Jamilu.

  1. The victim was abducted from Sharada Quarters Kano, whisked to Gwarzo Town, Gwarzo LGA, Kano State, kept hostage and a ransom demand of ten million naira (10,000,000:00) was made. After negotiations, a sum of three hundred thousand naira (N300,000:00) naira was paid, pending the balance.
  2. On receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command,  CP Salman Dogo Garba, directed that the victim be rescued and the culprit(s) be trailed and arrested. Using technical support, the detectives arrested three suspects: Hisbullahi Salisu, ‘m’, 30 years old, Hassan Ali Rabiu, ‘m’, 28 years old, both from Yakasai Quarters, Kano and Hassan Aliyu, ‘m’, 22 years old of Hotoro Quarters, Kano.
  3. The principal suspect; Hisbullahi Salisu, who is a cousin to the victim, confessed to have conspired with the two other mentioned suspects, kidnapped the victim and took him to their hideout in Gwarzo Town, Gwarzo LGA, Kano State.
  4. The victim was rescued unhurt, rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specalist Hospital Kano, and later reunited with his parents.
  5. The Kano State Police Command commends the Surveillance Team for their professionalism and swift response, which led to the successful rescue of the victim.
