The Deputy Governor of Kano State and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Aminu Abdussalam, expressed confidence in the individuals overseeing local government activities in the state.

This was conveyed during the inauguration of a three-day orientation retreat in Kaduna State on Sunday, according to a press statement from the Deputy Governor’s office.

The retreat, focused on the “Operational Guidelines for the Kano State Local Government Interim Management Committee,” aims to equip participants with the knowledge required to effectively manage their responsibilities and promote local government development.

Emphasizing the importance of understanding operational guidelines, the Deputy Governor stated, “You need to understand all aspects of LGA functions, including the budgeting process, and seek clarifications from your DPMs or Treasurers, where necessary.”

He reiterated that the appointments of the Interim Caretaker Committee chairmen, vice-chairmen, directors of personnel management, and treasurers were based on professionalism, qualifications, and the confidence of the New Nigeria People’s Party administration.

Gwarzo urged all officials to be responsible in their duties, calling on seminar consultants to foster collaborative and sustainable working relationships among the Interim Caretaker Committee members for the betterment of their respective local governments.
