The Federal Government has scheduled a meeting of the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage through the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC). The meeting is set for Tuesday, June 4.

This comes after the previous meeting on May 31 was abruptly halted when the organized labour negotiation team walked out.

The walkout occurred because the government and the organized private sector refused to increase their offer from N60,000, a proposal that labor deemed insufficient.

The upcoming meeting aims to find a resolution to the ongoing dispute over the national minimum wage, which has led to heightened tensions and the threat of industrial action by labor unions.

Further details on the outcomes of the meeting will be provided shortly.
