The Kano State House of Assembly has raised raises the total of the 2025 state appropriation bill from the N549,160,417,663.00 earlier presented by the state governor to N719,755,417,663.00.
Grassroots Parrot reports that the state lawmaker passed the 2025 state appropriation bill with an increase of N170,595,000,000 on Tuesday.
The bill was passed after a rowdy session during plenary, presided over by the Speaker, Rt Hon. Ismail Falgore.
The Speaker announced the passage of the bill, stating that the recurrent expenditure stands at N262,670,660,562.68, representing 36 percent of the budget, while the capital expenditure stands at N457,084,757,200.32, representing 64 percent.

The Majority Leader, Hon. Lawan Husseini, explained to journalists shortly after the session that it was necessitated following public hearings and outcries, noting that some needs which the government had not adequately addressed were raised, hence the increase.
He added that the state’s earnings are expected to come through internally generated revenue, the Federation Accounts, and capital.
Governor Abba Yusuf, on 8th November, presented the 2025 Appropriation Bill of N549,160,417,663.00 to the state for approval. He tagged the budget as the Budget of Hope, Human Capital, and Economic Development.
