Governor Yusuf Honours 35 Distinguished Kano Indigenes

In a grand state banquet held at the Kano State Government House on Saturday night, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf honoured 35 distinguished citizens for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields.

The honorees included 19 high-ranking military generals, six professors, and 10 other professionals who have excelled in their chosen careers.

In his address, Governor Yusuf congratulated the awardees for reaching significant milestones, emphasizing that their achievements have contributed immensely to the socio-economic development of both Kano State and Nigeria at large.

He assured the guests that the ceremony was non-partisan and aimed purely at recognizing professional excellence.

“You are great professionals of record, and it is this spirit of selfless service that we want to encourage and celebrate,” Governor Yusuf stated.

He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to collaborating with accomplished individuals to further Kano’s development without political interference.

The governor encouraged the youth of Kano to pursue education and careers in various fields, including the military, police, civil service, and judiciary, in order to sustain the state’s legacy of producing nationally and internationally recognized talents.

He expressed gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the event’s success, including the federal government for its support in promoting Kano’s indigenous talents.

The chairman of the organising committee, Mohammed Jamu, highlighted the significance of the event, noting that it was designed to celebrate Kano’s finest, who have represented the state with distinction.

Similarly, the leader of all imams in Nigeria, Sheikh Nasir Muhammad Adam, urged the honorees to mentor and inspire the next generation in their respective careers.

  12. Air Vice Marshal G. A. Bello

  14. Air Vice Marshal S. K. Usman
  15. Air Vice Marshal M. S. Ibrahim
  16. Air Vice Marshal K. M. Umar
  17. Rear Admiral Abdullahi Ahmad
