A fire broke out on Sunday night at Ajah Market near Alesh Bus Stop in Lekki, Lagos, destroying goods valued at millions of naira.
The blaze, which started around 9 p.m., rapidly spread through shops stocked with flammable materials.
Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), reported that LASEMA and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services responded swiftly to contain the fire.

While no injuries were recorded as the market was closed for Sunday, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
“The response teams successfully prevented the fire from spreading to nearby buildings,” Oke-Osanyintolu said, adding that efforts to fully extinguish the flames and recover any remaining valuables were ongoing.
