Blaise Felix Aliyu, a 15-year-old student at the Air Force Comprehensive School in Kaduna, has tragically died after being punished by two senior students.
Aliyu, an orphan who lost his parents in 2013, is survived by his twin brother, who also attends the military boarding school in Mando, Kaduna.
According to reports, two SS3 students called Aliyu to their room under the guise of punishing him but ended up fatally harming him. The incident has shocked the community, and Aliyu’s body has been taken to the mortuary.

Reacting to the incident, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, spokesperson for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy. In a statement issued on Saturday, Gabkwet confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding Aliyu’s death.
“The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, and the entire NAF family are saddened by the painful and unfortunate incident of the untimely death of one of our students at Air Force Secondary School, Kaduna, on June 19, 2024,” Gabkwet said.
“To avoid all sorts of speculations, a thorough investigation is currently ongoing to unravel how, why, and what actually led to the death of the victim.

Rest assured that this matter is receiving the utmost urgency it deserves, and we won’t rest until it is unraveled,” the statement added.
The school community and Aliyu’s surviving twin brother are left mourning this tragic loss, while authorities work diligently to uncover the full details of this heartbreaking event.
