A high court in Kano has scheduled April 15, 2025, for the hearing of preliminary objections in the corruption case against Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Kano State Government has filed an eight-count charge against Ganduje, his wife Hafsat Ganduje, his son Umar Abdullahi Umar, and five others.
The charges include bribery, misappropriation, and diversion of public funds. The other defendants in the case are Abubakar Bawuro, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Limited, Safari Textiles Limited, and Lasage General Enterprises Limited.

During the court session on Thursday, February 13, the state’s counsel, Adeola Adedipe, indicated readiness to proceed with the applications.
Lawyers representing Ganduje and some co-defendants also signaled their preparedness, while others requested additional time to regularize their submissions.
Justice Amina Adamu-Aliyu granted the applications for an extension of time and adjourned the case to April 15, when all pending preliminary objections will be heard.
The case has drawn significant public interest, given Ganduje’s high-profile political standing and the seriousness of the allegations.
