Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has directed all political appointees in his administration to declare their assets in compliance with the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) regulations.
The governor issued this directive during an Iftar (Ramadan breaking of fast) event held at the Government House in Kano, which was attended by Heads of Government Agencies and Special Advisers.
According to Yusuf, about 60 to 70 per cent of appointees have yet to fulfill the mandatory asset declaration requirement. He urged them to obtain, complete, and submit the necessary forms promptly to ensure compliance with the law and maintain transparency in governance.

The governor also emphasized the critical role of special advisers in providing counsel and submitting reports on governance matters. He encouraged them to actively monitor government affairs and offer constructive advice, whether positive or negative, to improve decision-making processes.
In addition, Yusuf announced the allocation of 13 Hajj seats to Heads of Government Agencies, a gesture aimed at recognizing their contributions and providing an opportunity for spiritual enrichment.
Responding on behalf of the appointees, Dr. Rahila Mukhtar, the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Contributory Health Care Management Agency (KCHIMA), expressed gratitude to the governor for his leadership and support.

Similarly, the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Umar Ibrahim, reminded the appointees of their oath of office, stressing the need for them to execute their duties with justice and dedication.
He urged them to remain committed to Governor Yusuf’s mission of transforming Kano State and improving the standard of living for its citizens.
