The Senate has moved into a closed session to discuss President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of emergency rule in Rivers State.
Grassroots Parrot had reported that the emergency rule led to the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and other elected officials.
The closed-door deliberation was initiated following Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s reading of Tinubu’s letter during Thursday’s plenary session.
Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele formally moved for the closed session, citing Order 135 of the Senate rules.
The motion, however, received support from Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro, who seconded it.
