The Nigerian Army has announced the arrest of a 25-year-old woman, Shamsiyya Ahadu, accused of supplying arms and ammunition to the notorious terrorist leader, Bello Turji.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement released on Sunday, December 29, by Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre.
According to the statement, Ahadu was apprehended alongside an accomplice, Ahmed Husaini, who is reportedly a motorcyclist involved in the operation.
The duo was captured on December 28 in the Badarawa area of Shinkafi Local Government Area, Zamfara State.

Troops seized 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines intended for delivery to Turji’s camp.
The successful operation was carried out by troops of Sector 2 Joint Task Force North West, under Operation Fansan Yamma, based on intelligence about terrorist logistics movements between the Kware and Badarawa communities.
Lieutenant Colonel Abdullahi noted that both suspects are currently under investigation as authorities seek further information on the network supplying weapons to terrorist groups in the region.
Bello Turji is a notorious terrorist leader operating in Zamfara State and other parts of the North West. He has been linked to several violent attacks and other criminal activities.

Recently, Turji threatened reprisals, claiming that some of his suspected associates arrested by security forces were innocent community members.
The Nigerian Army reiterated its commitment to combating terrorism and expressed gratitude for the support it continues to receive from the public.
The military urged citizens to remain vigilant and provide credible intelligence to help dismantle terrorist networks and ensure peace and stability in the region.
