Abia State Governor Alex Otti recently welcomed former Kano State Governor and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) 2023 presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to his Nvosi Isiala Ngwa South local government country home.

The meeting has sparked speculation of a possible alliance between Kwankwaso’s NNPP and a faction of the Labour Party (LP), led by Nnenadi Usman, ahead of the 2027 elections.

Kwankwaso was in Abia to offer condolences to Governor Otti following the passing of Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, the first civilian governor of Abia State, who was recently laid to rest.

During his visit, Kwankwaso also addressed 15 Abia indigenes who had recently graduated from the Nigeria Police Academy in Kano, urging them to uphold professionalism and integrity.

“Let me take this opportunity, based on my experience, to advise you to first and foremost fear God,” Kwankwaso said.

“Stay there as professionals. Now you are fresh, just coming out of the prestigious institute; stay there as professionals.”

He commended Otti’s achievements, noting that, from conversations with local residents, it was clear Otti had made significant progress. “We have seen your projects everywhere,” Kwankwaso remarked.

Governor Otti expressed gratitude for Kwankwaso’s visit and the guidance he offered, acknowledging the former governor’s patriotism and insight as invaluable.
