Prominent human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN, alongside fellow legal practitioners Maxwell Opara and Deji Adeyanju, escorted Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, to the Force Headquarters in Abuja for questioning over allegations of terrorism financing and other related charges.
The Labour movement had initially mobilized its members to accompany Ajaero to the police headquarters in a show of solidarity. However, Chief Falana, who serves as the NLC’s legal representative, advised the workers to remain at the Labour House to avoid a potentially chaotic situation at the police premises.

Addressing the gathered workers, Falana assured them that the legal team, including lawyers from his chambers, was well-prepared to handle the situation. He emphasized that there was no need for a large crowd at the police headquarters, urging calm and patience among the workers.
Despite the peaceful atmosphere at the Labour House, a detachment of police officers was observed in the vicinity, maintaining security around the area as the questioning proceeded at the Force Headquarters.
Workers from various unions remained at the Labour House, awaiting updates on the outcome of the meeting, while the presence of the legal team at the police headquarters underscored the seriousness of the allegations and the NLC’s commitment to addressing the situation through legal channels.
