Kano State Government has relaxed the curfew declared on Thursday.

The state Commissioner for Information, Alilu Dantiye, in a voice record made available to Grassroots Parrot on Saturday evening, confirmed the relaxation of the curfew from 8.a.m to 2.p.m daily until further notice.

Dantiye said the move was necessary following the experience of the good people of Kano since the curfew was declared two days ago.

He, however, noted that the curfew will be reviewed in due course as the situation improves in the state.

The curfew was declared following the violence and looting experienced by the state residents on Thursday as hoodlums hijacked the ongoing nationwide  hunger protest in Kano.

The curfew was initially relaxed for a few hours from 12 noon to 5pm on Friday to enable Muslim faithful observe the Jumat prayers.
