The Zazzau Emirate was thrown into mourning on Thursday following the sudden demise of a senior council member, Alhaji Rilwan Yahaya Pate, who collapsed at a public function and later passed away at the Gambo Sawaba General Hospital in Zaria.

Pate, who held the prestigious title of Sarkin Yakin Zazzau, was attending an event alongside the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, when he slumped unexpectedly. Efforts to revive him proved unsuccessful, and he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Confirming the tragic incident, the Media and Publicity Officer of the Zazzau Emirate, Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, released a statement expressing the deep sorrow of the Emirate over the loss.
