Senator Ned Nwoko has argued that men who practice polygamy enjoy greater stability and balance in life compared to those married to just one woman.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Sunday, the lawmaker and businessman shared insights into his family life and addressed rumours of domestic violence involving his actress wife, Regina Daniels.
Nwoko, who is married to four women, likened polygamy to standing on multiple legs, saying it provides better support and strength for a man.

“Just imagine telling you to stand on one foot or leg. You know how difficult it is,” he said. “But to stand on two, three, four is much more balanced. That’s just the example I give. So, I feel sorry for those who have one wife because it’s difficult to stand on one leg.”
The senator, representing Delta North, further explained that his belief in polygamy is rooted in both faith and personal conviction. He noted that the Old Testament of the Bible permits men to marry multiple wives, stressing that his decision was a conscious and fulfilling one.
“The Old Testament does. I am a man of faith,” Nwoko said. “No, I don’t have any regret. I will do the same thing again. Of course, that’s the way it should be. You should marry who you want to marry.”

When asked about recent allegations of domestic violence within his household, the lawmaker dismissed the claims as baseless, insisting that he treats all his wives and children with love and respect.
“Come on, you know I am not a violent person,” he maintained. “I respect my wives. I love them and my kids.”
Nwoko’s comments have since sparked mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians debating his views on marriage and the role of polygamy in modern society.
