Tension has resurfaced in Jos, Plateau State, just hours after the government eased the 48-hour curfew imposed following the deadly attack in Anguwan Rukuba.
Reports indicate that sporadic violence broke out in parts of the city, with unconfirmed claims of new casualties, sparking panic among residents. Traders who had earlier reopened their shops were forced to shut down and flee for safety.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of confusion as people ran for cover amid fears of renewed attacks. Security presence has since been intensified in affected areas, although authorities are yet to officially confirm the latest incidents.
The curfew had been introduced to restore calm after the earlier killings, but the renewed unrest has raised fresh concerns about the fragile security situation in the state.
Authorities are urging residents to remain calm and vigilant as efforts continue to restore order.

The violence follows Sunday’s attack in Anguwan Rukuba, where gunmen reportedly riding on motorcycles killed at least 28 people near the community junction. In the aftermath, angry youths blocked major roads, heightening tension.
The incident also disrupted academic activities, with the University of Jos rescheduling examinations earlier planned for March 30 and 31.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang, in a statewide address, assured residents that the state would not yield to fear or intimidation.
