Kano State Government has demolished an uncompleted building along Commissioner Road over alleged unlawful erection of the building in the area.
Grassroots Parrot reports that some residents said that the uncompleted building is suspected to be a mosque.
The state Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Abduljabbar Umar, confirmed the demolition on Wednesday, claiming that the structure was erected contrary to the original town plans.
Umar, who doubles as the Chairman of the State Task Force Committee on Development Control, said the state government had served the owner of the property a quit notice on November 25, 2024, but to which he failed to respond.

The commissioner, represented by the Director of Administration at the Ministry of Land and Physical Planning, Hamid Sidi Ali, said the move was part of government’s strategy to prevent land encroachment.
He, however, warned that the current administration would demolish all structures built unlawfully in the state.
