-Conference To Address Youth Issues In Education, Employment, Innovation And Social Justice
President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has unveiled plans for a 30-day National Youth Conference aimed at empowering young Nigerians and harnessing their creative potential for national development. The announcement was made during a national broadcast on Tuesday to commemorate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary.
The conference, which will bring together youth representatives from across the country, is designed to address key issues such as education, employment, innovation, security, and social justice. Tinubu emphasized that youths—comprising over 60% of Nigeria’s population—will be at the forefront of shaping policies that impact their lives.
“We cannot design a future that belongs to them without making them its architects,” Tinubu said. “This conference will be a platform for meaningful dialogue, empowering young people to actively participate in nation-building.”

The president assured that the government would carefully consider and implement the conference’s recommendations, adding that the modalities and delegate selection will be done in close consultation with youth representatives.
In addition to the conference, President Tinubu highlighted several youth-centric initiatives by his administration, including:
-3 Million Technical Talents Programme (3MTT): A project aimed at building Nigeria’s technical talent pool.
– Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND): A scheme providing affordable loans for tertiary education.
– Renewed Hope Labour Employment and Empowerment Programme (LEEP): Set to launch later this month, LEEP aims to create 2.5 million jobs annually while ensuring worker welfare and safety.

President Tinubu also called on Nigerians to reflect on past mistakes and strive for a brighter future. “If we are to become one of the greatest nations on earth, our mistakes must not be allowed to follow us into the future,” he said.
The youth conference is expected to serve as a landmark event in the government’s efforts to engage and empower young Nigerians for national development.
