At least three people are feared dead and several others injured after armed bandits attacked Jikamshi town in Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State on Tuesday evening.
Residents said the attackers stormed the community at about 6:10 pm, firing indiscriminately and causing panic as people fled for safety while preparing to break their 21st Ramadan fast.
An eyewitness reported that the bandits also broke into several shops and looted goods worth millions of naira during the assault, which lasted for more than an hour. The injured victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Musawa is regarded as one of the areas most affected by banditry in the state, despite recent efforts by authorities to broker peace with armed groups.
As of the time of filing this report, officials of the state government and the police had yet to issue an official statement on the incident. Attempts to reach the police spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, for comments were unsuccessful.
