Suspected kidnappers have reportedly abducted a 60-year-old woman, Talatu Ali, from the Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Dawanau in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.
Grassroots Parrot gathered that the incident occurred on February 19, 2025, which has raised concerns over security within medical institutions in the state.
According to intelligence sources, Mrs. Ali was brought to the hospital by her son, Nasiru Aliyu, and her cousin, Aliyu Garba, both residents of Yar Gaya Village in Dawakin Kudu LGA.
She was reportedly awaiting medical consultation when her relatives suddenly discovered that she had disappeared from the queue.

All efforts to locate her within the hospital premises proved unsuccessful, leading the family to promptly report the incident to the Dawanau Divisional Police Headquarters.
However, on February 21, 2025, at approximately 7:00 a.m., Aliyu received a phone call from an unknown number confirming that the victim was in the caller’s custody.
Authorities believe the kidnappers may have deliberately targeted the hospital, exploiting its security vulnerabilities to abduct the victim.
The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the abduction and assured the public that an investigation is underway to track down the perpetrators and rescue Mrs. Ali safely.

Meanwhile, the incident has sparked concerns over the safety of patients and visitors at healthcare facilities in the state.
Residents and security analysts have urged the government to enhance security measures in hospitals and other public institutions to prevent further incidents of this nature.
As investigations continue, the family of the victim remains hopeful for her safe return.
